“There are two groups in Flor de Bastion every Wednesday…

The adolescents meet in the morning. This group has done a huge variety of both theatre and visual artwork. From portrait drawing in wire, to mask making, and games such as ´SPLOSH´(a Spanish version of SPLAT) to drama games like ´Whose Line Is It Anyway?´. In the final weeks of term we focused more on printmaking and design. They were all given a white baseball cap on which they had to make a personal design that had some meaning and importance for them. After a frustrating hour of them attempting to recreate Mickey mouse, the nike logo or other such Americanized images they eventually got the idea of the design games and activities and started really creating original designs that expressed their dreams, ideas, and bus routes!?! They worked in a mixture of acrylic paint, permanent markers, spray paint and stenciling. And after just 3 sessions had all made some excellent artwork of which they were incredibly proud. The only mishap was a small incident with some blue spray paint and a small white kitten… “
